hello<br><br>What if Ahsoka was appointed to the Jedi Council instead of Anakin?<br><br>Premise: To show its goodwill after she was cleared of charges, the Jedi Council offers her a seat on the council as a representative, rather than Anakin.<br><br>Consequence: This creates huge jealousy and bitterness in Anakin, who feels overlooked by both the council and his own Padawan. Palpatine uses this to drive a wedge between Anakin and Ahsoka.

It is easy to see others and state opinions about them... difficult to see oneself and make factual determinations about ones own mind. Yoda was not so wise as he was opinionated. He had good intentions, but did not understand the the ultimate price those hell bound intentions lead to. The Force is not so much about control as both sides strove for, but about freedom and natural determination, acceptance and learning through making mistakes and overcoming them in a manner that balances rather than stifles.

Yoda whispered, after the duel with Sidious, "I have failed" and years later, when he burnt the scriptures, he said to Luke what a great teacher failure is. So, I think it's safe to say he was overestimated by both the Jedi and himself. And that is the reason for his retreat. Embarrassment. He felt the shame that stems from arrogance of knowitallism. Regret for practicing Hubris. Like an ancient greek tragedy..
