  I&apos;m Scottish. I can name 90% 50 US states and capitals off the top of my head.<br>Also, all the continents, and nearly all the nations of those continents and quite a lot of their capitals.<br>Off the top of my head.<br>The fact the US has 50 states is no form of an excuse for geographical ignorance.

  About the cheap universalhealth insurance: if you are wounded from e.g. a car accident, this will be considered in Europe as a medical emergency. In the USA, it is considered a business opportunity.

  First visit to USA &nbsp;and I feel &nbsp;so thankful to my country ( Australia) for what I took for granted. Visiting US - fine &nbsp;, living there - hell no.

  Not enough people realize that if you are scared to leave or lose your job because you live paycheck to paycheck, you are actually a slave. It&apos;s not freedom. The USA is a place with very little freedom. <br>Lack of rules is freedom for the Lion and oppression for the lamb.

  I recently spent a few days in a small town near Naples in Italy: Vico Equense, highly recommended. This was because I was going to visit Pompeii. With my perhaps six words of Italian, what I particularly appreciated is that no one in my hotel or the shops spoke English to me. They spoke more slowly or rephrased sentences, and were very friendly and helpful. It really pays to make a linguistic effort.

  There is a connection between a universal healthcare programme and outlawing many types of processed foods that have been proven to be extremely unhealthy.

  I&apos;d like to add three more things: <br>1. Education in Europe, including university, is essentially free. Graduates therefore enter the workforce debt-free. <br>2. Europeans have significantly less debt than Americans. Of course, Americans&apos; debt includes student loans. But it&apos;s not just debt; debt of any kind is almost considered part of the American way of life. <br>3. Europeans have much better job security (and for much longer) than Americans. In Europe, there are long notice periods during which full salary must be paid. <br>These three points naturally contribute to a more relaxed outlook. And there are many other points where Europeans have a clear advantage.

  Work-life balance also increases productivity. If you look at the Scandinavian countries their productivity is a lot higher than the US despite working a lot less :body-blue-raised-arms:

  A recent medical programme on TV said that the best way to improve your health is to cut out processed food. No wonder America&apos;s life expectancy is so much lower than most of the Western world.

  Americans always use the excuse that because the US is large they have little knowledge of the rest of the world.. The rest of the world knows more about the US than many Americans.
