I said to a maths teacher when I was 15 that never in my life would I need to be able to add A's and B's and X's and Y's. The teacher told me to shut up. I am now 65 and I was right

Wiles' story always reminds me of the comment a friend made when his proof was announced: "He did that for us!" It was Wiles' gift to the world.
