If you want a light "backup", buy a preamp like a Sansamp or similar. They even make them with cab simulator setings. Most will fit in the extra space in your bass case, and weighs barely anything. Rig goes out? Plug the preamp into the P.A. and use a stage monitor for your cab.

For band rehearsals I use an Ashdown Electric Blue 180W 1x12” combo. For small gigs I use an ABM 500 evo iii 2x10” combo and for larger, louder gigs I stack that on top of an ABM 1x15” extension cab to give me the full 575W.

I went to the lake last weekend and caught me one of those Orange Terror Bass 500s!

I recently purchased the Rumble 40. It is completely unimpressive to look at. It’s so generic looking, but that changes in function. I got it to replace my older Rumble 75 because I got tired of lugging it around! I recently used the 40 at an outdoor gig with a line out  to the PA. I did have it on an amp stand (my one complaint as the new Rumble amps do not have a tilt back option). I had it at maybe 30% volume, I was right next to the drummer and I could easily hear myself. I was tempted to get the 100 but it was almost double in price and only offered a couple other features. Really happy with the 40. Check it out if you get the chance!

I have a Rumble 40, I use it for playing with friends using acoustic guitars at outdoor parties. I just use my electric bass and the volume control.

I bought a Boss Katana 2-10" bass combo. Sounds amazing, deceivingly loud, inexpensive and loaded with features. I seldom hear it mentioned and seldom see others use it. It seems to be another one of those unassuming amp that's simply flying under the radar.

Have orange 50 watt and vypyr X1 that is surprisingly a great bass amp and guitar amp in one .   I think I like the vypyr better than orange.

I was going to buy the Fender Rumble 40 but I found that whilst it sounded good, the slightly larger Rumble 100 packed a much nicer low end punch for something not that much larger and more expensive. Saying that,  the Mark Bass amp is my pick of the bunch.
