  As someone who relies on their Etsy shop as their main source of income, it has been so disheartening to see these shifts. I’m a painter and sell my original paintings, prints, stickers etc. but the truth is at moment there is still no other platform that can even come close to competing with etsy when it comes to selling handmade goods. Etsy built itself off of the backs of creators and artists to garner the reputation they had and at every turn they make decisions to undermine that now.

  I feel really bad for the hobbyists who made 3d models to share for free, only to see their designs printed and charged for an exorbitant amount of money everywhere they go.

  I'm an Etsy seller, 8k sales and used to be able to just about pay my rent and bills with it. About 2 years ago my shop practically died very suddenly, and now I'm lucky to see like $20 a week. Didn't realize how exactly that lines up with the AI policy :/

  AI sewing patterns are the worst, I don't even trust likely legitimate designers now because there is so much slop

  My sister sells art on Etsy and has been accused of using AI because the site is so full of it. So that’s another way it’s hurting independent artists

  The section with the ai chatbot going into excruciating detail of pinely's minionsona tarot card reading complete with illustrations and everything may be the funniest thing ive seen on this channel

  I worked as a vendor at a small farmers market in my city. And at that small market, there was not one, not two, not three, but four different booths, selling those stupid scaly ass 3-D printed dragons
