Fun Fact: This was the first video by a Black artist that was ever aired on MTV. It was in 1983. <br>Two year after MTV went on air.

MTV started in 1981 and they would not play any black artists. The President of CBS Records threatened to pull every video from MTV if this continued. MTV finally relented and played ‘Billie Jean’ in 1983 and the rest is history. Within a year, Michael Jackson was the King of Pop and was on MTV every 5 minutes along other black artists like Prince, Tina Turner and Lionel Ritchie.

Holy cow, discovering this song for the first time is like drinking water for the first time. This is as CLASSIC as you can get for us Gen Xers. It's still hard to believe there are people who haven't heard it. I keep forgetting there are people a lot younger than me out there. 😂
