Thanks Michael. I鈥檝e done this many times before, however the older I get the more likely I am to miss a step in the process. So a refresher is always good.

Using a spring to set the tracking force has an advantage: The moving arm system center of mass remains at the pivot, the arm is more immune to structural feedback (dynamic balance arm). Compared to arms which adjust the tracking force by shifting the counterweight forward, in which the center of mass in turn is shifted in front of the pivot (static balance arm). The analogy would be shaking a pencil precisely at the balance point compared to doing so a little off the balance point.

Hi Michael, to me it is easier to connect the cartridge pins before mounting the cartridge in the arm that way you don't have to fumble under the arm and you will have the cartridge hanging on the wires ready to mount. Good point about the cartridge pin sizes , I pulled one pin out of My 2M blue while changing the cartridge for an AT, thanks

Rather than use a right angle Allen key, I find a hexagonal screwdriver much easier. Mine is also waisted just above the end so can be used at a slight angle which sometimes makes things easier.
