  Great talk, guys. Thank you! FWIW, Anyone who hasn’t checked out the Korf site is missing out. Besides seeing what he offers for his beautiful tonearm designs, Alex has a huge amount of very useful information which he shares openly. There’s stuff to learn, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned audiophile. No hoarding of information in this case.   🔊😊🎶💜

  Very enjoyable panel discussion. I am in hopes that the  best of what's available in the vinyl industry will coordinate much further with others that have been blocked out that have advanced implementations that would benefit the true audio enthusiast

  Great discussion, some really good points, especially Richard talking about records used at shows which are really easy to reproduce well, we need more challenging complex dense mixes with wide dynamics in order to really judge how capable the the system is.

  I love records and have big investment in them, fiscally and philosophically but I do wonder if all the undoubted talent and experience we see on this stage wouldn&apos;t be better invested in developing a superior digital system that would have the best of both worlds. I remember reading a comment made by a wiser man than me that said &quot;if digital had come first, no-one would have gone on to invent vinyl records&quot; and I think that&apos;s a really telling point. Great discussion, incidentally and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you, Michael and panel.

  All discussions regarding the future of analog audio (vinyl records) are invariably limited to the playback stage—such as styli/cartridges, tonearms, and the turntables themselves. Why is there never any talk of improving the record manufacturing process (the cutting stylus, the lacquer platter, the associated electronic equipment)? Have we reached the limit of evolution in this area?

  I&apos;ve been through the Ortofon ST-80SE SUT grounding hell, which took me 2 days to eliminate. But recently, I decided to ground all my equipment, something I never before really felt was necessary, but after mounting a Ortofon MC X40 and a new DAC, my system has become so smooth, transparent and relaxed, I wanted to try it out to see if grounding made a difference.<br>But there was hum, a lot of it, and all my equipment is fed from the same group in the &apos;fuse box&apos;. Not the problem. But I was perplexed, couldn&apos;t find the culprit, so I started working on all my cables, to try and clean up some of the mess behind my system. When I unplugged my antenna cable, the hum disappeared. Bingo!<br>A small device that created a galvanic isolation between the antenna cable and the wall outlet was the solution, and since then my system is dead quiet. No hum, no hiss, and I have to feed my speakers with +75 WPC to even hear a very slight hiss from my Primare R35 RIAA. This lifted the already perfect sound character another notch. Nirvana!<br>Hum can drive a man crazy...

  I have been working in different directions. Surprisingly ultra light platter experiments are going very well. Light platters store less energy and return to a smooth state faster. Also we have newer materials to dampen tonearms. So yes, more can ,and is being extracted these days. Cheers.
