  Carl&apos;s influences were the great jazz drummers like Joe Morello, Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. &nbsp;Buddy didn&apos;t think too highly of most rock drummers but was a fan of Carl, and asked him to sit in with his band at Ronnie Scott&apos;s in 1986.

  Carl has been my favorite drummer since I saw ELP in 1971. It&apos;s nice to see this creativity again.

  Carl deserved more public recognition than he ever got. His name belongs up there with Bonham, Ringo, Buddy Rich and well you get it.

  Andrew: to answer your questions. The electric drums are played on a multi pad “Panda”. &nbsp;Two, the piece is Carmina Barena. Three, this is the conclusion of a two plus hour show, not in the beginning; and he still has the energy.
