  I have a 10 22. It&apos;s around 40 years old. Hopefully the quality at that time is better. But I have never been a one gun man.

  Personally I think that the Stevens model 87 series is the best 22 rifle ever made. Commonly known as the &quot;gill&quot; gun especially the early models the a through d series. They have several unique features. Firstly they were tube fed semi-automatic 22. the unique features were the fact that you could push the bolt handle in and lock the action so essentially you would have a single shot 22 enabling you to use a short, long and long rifle. Another interesting thing about the Stevens 87 was in the semi-automatic mode when you pulled the trigger the round would go off and the bolt would come back however the bolt would stay in the rear position until you release the trigger. There are multiple advantages to this system what are the advantages being when the action is open it allows unburnt powder smoke and debris to more easily exit the chamber area. The other interesting feature the Stevens 87 has is the fact that it has a large screw on the bottom of the stock when you remove this screw the action comes off the stock allowing the rifle to be stored in a much more compact area. The other advantage is it allows the rifle to be field stripped and cleaned much more simply. Another advantage was all of the operating parts were steel. And it was designed to run essentially forever. However I must warn you the Stevens 87 H model was a very odd rifle. It apparently was Steven&apos;s attempt to modernize the look of the rifle and in the process they changed the feeding mechanism and the stock and it just didn&apos;t work very well. There was another variant called the Ranger 101 which featured a detachable box magazine.

  I&apos;ve got a Savage mark ll .22LR for smaller varmints and a Henry Small Game Carbine in .22 msgnum for the larger ones. 👍

  I have a ruger and a henry 22. The henry is by far my favorite. Holds 14 22LR. Also, I inherited a old bolt action Springfield 22LR that needs a lot of &nbsp;work but still fires without a problem.

  The nylon 66 dated back before they even mandated serial numbers well well well well run and shoot absolutely anything flawlessly
