  In the late 70s I was 32. I was never a loaded weapon in my house.. BUT! a few minutes before I left work every police car in that town came past our shop, headed north. I lived northwest of town 5 or 6 miles, wasn't concerned. I left work, didn't see the 1st police car until I was about 300 yards from my home, wife and two daughters were there...  NOW! I'm concerned!!!! A young guy had shot his uncle from the backseat with a shotgun, jumped out and ran into the surrounding woods!?!? I stopped, the police told me what happened, told me to be vigilant. Went straight home, loaded the only weapon I owned and laid it beside the bed. Winchester 94. I'm thank the Lord, no one tried to enter my house!

  I have been a police officer for 43 years and master firearms instructor trainer.  I find your program the best. My only point that differs is  any information taken from  the FBI is not  always reliable. Many times they state an opinion then gear their testing to fit the  outcome . Venders often give agencies testing products many perks. This can , at times,affect  the outcome of testing.

  My firearms were stolen when my title to my property was stolen a few years ago and I was told by my local police force that here in California, I cannot legally buy firearms until my stolen firearms have been recovered. In other words I have no Constitutional Rights to possess firearms in California until my stolen ones are found. I also get absolutely no help from the police, sheriff's office, or FBI and being disabled I don't get paid enough disability funds to hire an attorney to solve my problems.

  I'm 73 yrs old veteran, property owner, and a certified NRA Handgun Instructor and Range Officer.   I absolutely agree with everything you  covered in this video.  I do recommend a first time self defense handgun  purchaser start out with a revolver, especially if they're not going to put in much range time and maintenance.  I own both. I like the S&W 638 and stoke it with Gold Dot .38+P. It's snappy so not for new shooters.  The Ruger SP 101 is heavier and a better choice for a new shooter.   I prefer H&K semi auto compacts anything, in .40 S&W over 9MM except you're basically limited to 9MM in subcompacts.  I use Barnes TAC-XP. They penetrate where needed and expand well but don't over penetrate through walls.  They're amazing.  No need for a mix with frangebles. Shot placement takes priority, as it always should over relying on double taps, especially with snappy guns/ammo.  A .22 rimfire revolver is invaluable in learning rudimentary handgun technique and preventing a flinch. I still like to warm up first with my model 17. Keep up the good work sir.  I'm a widower and my kids grown but I still pray that one car never comes down my lane.   Great lesson ! ALWAYS treat a weapon, rather it be a pistol , shotgun or rifle as it is loaded,, and never point at anything you are not intended to shot
