  Companies seem take a “who got us where we are can’t be the people who get us where we want to go” approach as a justification to bring in external talent, even when that talent is from a different industry. &nbsp;You’re competing with a resume that only shows a positively inflated representation of the external candidate. They don’t seem to understand this as being demotivating to the existing team. &nbsp;<br>Your ideas are wonderful for a true meritocracy but in the real corporate world your approach is more likely to offer security than promotion. &nbsp;Security is still a good thing so it’s still good advice that I think is still worth considering.

  Hey Keith<br><br>Discovered you earlier this week, really appreciate the advice you&apos;re giving, it&apos;s been a big help<br><br>I&apos;m curious about what to do when you try to make a difference, include people in the process but then the project or innovation ends up being cut due to some higher ups not thinking it aligns with the future growth of the company.<br>Even if the company owner already sees value in it.<br><br>How can you get around a situation where part of the decision making staff don&apos;t see it the same way?<br>Just keep trying and try to get those people in the same &nbsp;boat sooner?
