  20+ years ago, a work mate asked when I was going to get a Harley. I replied &quot;I&apos;m not old enough or fat enough to get a Harley&quot;. <br>Couple of years ago he looks at me and says &quot;So, when are you getting that Harley?&quot;.

  Harley has been screaming “history and heritage!” for 20 years. They never could explain what that meant. You just did it in ten minutes using a combination of physics and art history. Bravo sir, bravo!

  Years after I sold my Gold Wing, and walked away from motorcycles, I bought an old Harley (solid mount engine) with a blown piston. &nbsp;I took the bike down to the frame and totally when thru it. &nbsp;Harley parts really are cheap due to the aftermarket support. &nbsp;I remember while rebuilding the carburator I kept thinking man this sure is familiar. Then it dawned on me. &nbsp;The carburator was pretty much the same as the one we had on our 1948 &quot;B&quot; Allis Chalmers &nbsp;tractor back on the farm. &nbsp; Got it all togeather, adjusted everything, and finally took it for my first ride. &nbsp;I though, there is something wrong. &nbsp;NO way this bike is suppose to rides and shake like this. &nbsp;But, &nbsp;it got in my blood. &nbsp;The sound and vibration. &nbsp;The simplicity of the engine. &nbsp;Having to use the choke on cold days. &nbsp; The smell of unburnt fuel when you stop somewhere. &nbsp; Crusing home from work &nbsp;at &nbsp;50 to 55 MPH the relaxed thump of the engine really was therapy. &nbsp; &nbsp; I eventually moved on to a Ultra Glide and then ended up with an &nbsp;Indian Road Master. &nbsp; The Road Master is great. Well engineered, and smooth. &nbsp;Add fuel, change your oil and you are done. &nbsp;You can get on the express way and cruise for hours is absolute comfort. &nbsp; With that said, &nbsp;It just does not inspire me the way that old &nbsp;harley did. &nbsp; Probably because of the journey I took &nbsp;bringing that old bike back to life. &nbsp; The wrenching, busted knuckles, &nbsp;the mistakes, &nbsp;meeting great people on my parts quest, &nbsp;and swapping war stories with other bikers who actually work on their own machines. &nbsp; &nbsp; Oh well, &nbsp;Peace All!! &nbsp;Stay safe on the road and remember two wheels down !!

  ‘I’ve owned Honda, Suzukis, Ducati , Aprillias, Motor Guzzi, Victory and HD. I’ve loved them all for different reasons.
