  I have a soft spot for FF8&apos;s ifrit. And that&apos;s mainly due to being able to get a perfect score on the seed exam if you beat ifrit and let the timer run out during the victory screen

  Maybe a hot take: I actually am fond of FF16&apos;s Ifrit. I feel like it compounds on the more traditional design (i.e. the horns, bestial face, etc.) With a much more infernal (pun intented) design. With 10 or 8&apos;s Ifrit, even though he looks bestial, he still maintains an air of intelligence. The stance of the crossed arms, or the prescence of the golden jewelry, for example, gives a sense that he is a functional demigod, rather than just a savage beast. 16, on the otherhand, feels less like a deity of flame and more like a force of nature: Its skin looks like molten rock, the glow of the flames underneath the skin with the two eyes like embers, etc. He looks like a walking calamity, more intune with the savage nature of the inferno he represents. For the many gripes I have with 16, I quite liked the new design, though I know it is entirely different from the better, older designs. Not the best imo, but he gets a special place in my book

  Ifrit was on the back cover of ff7. As a kid browsing the used section of blockbuster, I saw the massive buster sword, the shinra tower (which I thought was a giant robot) and a badass demon on the back cover and begged my dad to get it immediately.

  My favourites are a tie between the Lion of FF8 and the Ben Starr Ifrits. Despite all it&apos;s flaws, FF16 did make Clive&apos;s Ifrit moments real fucking badass!!! &quot;I am a shield of Rosaria, and I will do my duty!&quot; was super cool.
