Everyone has their own struggles and battles. If I say I&apos;m tired after working a 70 hour work week in the ER I&apos;m not going to shit on my friend who works from home. It&apos;s not a competition.

  Fun story: My sister doesn’t allow her kids to be on tablets when they’re having dinner, but obviously kids can get bored when you take them out to eat. So my brother in law, rather than give them coloring pages or activity books? He taught them solitaire. I’m not even joking, he’ll bring two sets of cards and let my nieces play solitaire. And it works! My nieces are well behaved and so engrossed in their game they don’t have the time to cause a fuss.<br><br>The image of whatever waiter they have coming up and seeing a 7 year old and a 5 year old deep in a game of solitaire cracks me up so much.

  so many parents confuse &quot;gentle parenting&quot; &nbsp;with not parenting at all. You can be emotionally there for your children, understanding, and discipline them without hitting them or being overly rough with them. Theres an in between of corporal punishment and being way too overbearing on your child and not parenting at all 😭

  child dev major and preschool teacher here, reminder for parents that having firm boundaries with your kids is your child’s first model of how to have strong boundaries. Enforcing your “no” and making sure your “no” holds power shows your child that their “no” holds power as well as other people’s “no” aka, telling your child no is the first stepping stone to protecting your child from non consensual touch as well as making sure your child knows how to respect boundaries. If your “no” holds no weight as a parent then your child will learn that their and others boundaries are optional &nbsp;and thats a SLIPPERY SLOPE.

  I have a toddler, and when she screams in public, we start whispering. Mom and I will both lower our voices and start whispering, then we will say “Shhh. We are whispering,” with a finger to our lips. Our little girl will then spend minutes shushing us, and whispering her yells and babbles. It’s now a game we’re all playing together.
