"Joey is a weird name for a little alien baby."

Rex/Metamorpho is not an alien, he's just a human with powers.

That Green Lantern is one of many. This one is Guy Gardener and the one Ryan Reynolds played was Hal Jordan. Green Lanterns are basically like space Cops. Green Lantern is basically like a title like Officer or something.

    "He's just a dog!"

"Yeah, and he's not even a very good one. But he's alone, and he's probably scared."

That is Superman. That is who Superman is boiled down to a single line. He's an all-powerful symbol of strength to the people of Metropolis but what he really is is a good-hearted Kansas farm boy who just wants to help. He has the body of an Olympian God but the soul of the gentlest giant. I know the character is almost a hundred years old. I understand that there's a billion more Superheroes out there that are arguably more creative than he is, but Superman will always be the greatest. Well, him and his bat-cosplaying rich bestie share the top spot, but Superman is a symbol of good. A symbol of hope in a world where we could use some hope. This movie came out at the perfect time for society.

I love that a big reason Clark’s speech at the end completely bounces off Lex is that “loving” and “being scared” aren’t aspects of humanity that he values.

51:01 The Blonde Woman you're asking about is Cat Grant, the gossip columnist of the Daily Planet, co-worker of Clark and Lois. Much like Eve Tessmacher, while her out demeanor is a shallow celebrity obsessed papparazzi, Cat actually has hidden depths, and she's often Lois' confidant- sort of the equivalent of what Jimmy Olsen is to Clark Kent. She's part of the extended cast of Clark's daily planet co-workers.

Lois Lane is being harsh in her interview because she is trying to show him how a real hostile interview with an independent journalist should be. It's media training.

47:04 Thing is, Ryan Reynolds played a different Green Lantern named Hal Jordan, who has a more…generic hero personality. This one, however, is named Guy Gardner, he’s known for being the douchebag Lantern that no other hero likes to have around 😂 So yes, Nathan Fillion nailed it

The reporter on the big screen on the building is Will Reeve. Original Superman actor Christopher Reeve's son.

I think you were misreading Lois. It’s not that she doesn’t want Clark back, she just doesn’t think she deserves him. You can tell by what she said to him in his apartment, and how she said “I told you I wasn’t good at relationships” at the beginning. She knows she’s the one messing it up. Maybe on purpose. Later she tries to deflect and play down their relationship to Mr. Terrific, even contemplating breaking up with him after he told her he loves her. She’s terrified to be the one who Superman loves. I think she was struggling to humanize Superman just as much as anyone else. Until she met Clark’s parents and saw his room full of posters of his favorite mid bands.

I think that Lois showed a good journalistic mindset during her interview and was trying to prepare Clark for the sort of questions he'd have to face if he were being interviewed by anyone. In fact, the questions he'd face from any other journalist would be better more rage-baity trap questions. Clark was showing his immaturity by not being able to handle scrutiny of his actions and the possibility that the world might disagree with him. He's naive, and can't understand that Lois was respecting and trying to look out for him in that scene.

She was just questioning the ramifications of his actions to the world. Superman inserting himself into any conflict he deems he should, interfering in foreign government affairs, while looking like a White American and being based in an American city, raises a lot of anxieties from governments. And especially in the cynical, who know the depths of human depravity and project the possibility of it on to all others. Can you really not see how the existence of such a being, a very powerful being answering only to himself, regardless of his projected character, would be terrifying on several levels?

David Corenswet's Superman is not like Henry Cavill's Superman. It is not a God raised by mortals but just a "Good Man" with godlike powers. This Movie shows the heart and spirit of Superman a good man who wants to help others. The Pa Kent scene was amazing. Clark Kent gets his powers from Jor-El but Superman gets his strength from Jonathan!

22:28 I love the detail of Lex buttoning up his jacket while delivering this speech. It adds to the feeling of how calculated this whole thing is.
