Useful video. Thanks for sharing. I bought the recalled Paris Creek biodynamic butter and had to return it. Kerry gold is good. It's not available in drakes these days.

I was in dairy farming for 35 years, we supplied a local Factory, it produced Western Star Butter for many distributors. Our milk had to under go 9 tests every single day, a failure on anyone of those tests for two consecutive days meant it was down graded, paid less. What the factories did with the milk was always a concern as it affected our bottom line. One thing not mentioned here is that all the milk has to be Pasteurized to remove bacteria and Homogenized to get the smooth texture, this is quite different for cheese making, depends on the product.

As a sidenote Lurpak is Danish made whilst Western Star is Australian made,so comes down to support Australian made or support foreign made.

The best butter (for me) is cultured butter. Western Star has an Unsalted Cultured Butter at the same price as regular salted butter and every few weeks it is on special in the big supermarkets. Regular price $ 8.50 500g 0n special was $ 7.50, now gone up to $ 7.70. It is the one with a green stripe on the side. Cultured butter tastes better and keeps longer due to the fermentation process.

FACT: If it comes in a plastic container, it's not butter. Butter comes wrapped in paper or foil. It can't be poured.
