  I must admit I do smile when I hear young reactors say things like &quot;For a movie 50 years old it looks really good.&quot; when in fsct they shot on high grade film, and they were masters of lighting and mood. Nothing shot in an empty soundstage with a CGI background addrd later, and the explosions are actual explosions, not CGI splashes.

  The reason there are no subtitles in the restaurant scene is because, for both Michael and us viewers, what Sollozo is going to say is irrelevant. We know Michael came to the restaurant to kill them, so the important thing isn&apos;t what Sollozo is proposing, but rather seeing Michael&apos;s nervousness and doubt as he learns he&apos;s about to do something that will change his life forever.

  When Michael was being driven to the restaurant, the U-turn on the bridge was a tactic to lose anyone tailing them.

  The right partner for Michael was Apollonia. She´d have been the perfect sicilian wife: absolutely never asking Michael about his affairs, raising their children, supporting him over all... but Kay, on the other hand... was completely the other way around.
