  "Would you like me better if I was a nun?"  "Would you like me better if I was Ingrid Bergman?"  Michael and Kay have just left the movie theater where they watched The Bells of St. Mary's, starring Ingrid Bergman as a nun.  She was one of the biggest movie stars of all time; her most famous movie is Casablanca (1942), universally and rightly regarded as one of the very greatest movies ever made, and which no one should miss.

  It's significant that there's no subtitles in the restaurant scene. Nothing they say matters to Michael because he has every intention of killing them no matter what. From the director's POV, the Italian dialogue shouldn't matter to the audience either since we know what Michael is there to do.

  Moe Greene's character is representing the real life Ben "Bugsy" Siegal who basically invented Las Vegas. Now you have to watch, "Bugsy".

  Michael was a Marine Corps Captain... probably infantry....he had a Silver Star and a Purple Heart from service in the Pacific theater fighting the Japanese in World War II

  The baby in the baptism is actually the director’s daughter Sofia Coppola. Michael is speaking for the baby in rejecting Satan. As Godfather he speaks for the baby at the baptism. The people in this movie who eventually won Academy Awards is crazy. Brando, Pacino, Duvall, Keaton, (John Cazale who played Fredo was in five movies in seven years all of which were nominated for best picture) and of course DeNiro in part 2.
