Pro-tip! I finally got a housekeeper every other week - it forces me to run around the night before/morning of putting my sh*t away! Then I leave them to it, go have coffee, come home to sparkling house. Joy! Pure joy. <br>Carrot and stick.

The best thing I used for treating my ADHD was being outdoors, biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing. I was on the ski patrol when I was younger. I was reading a book by an tracker who learned from his Apache elder. He noticed that in the classroom ADHD students were disrupting and all over the place. But as soon as they went outside they were hyperfocused and saw so much more bugs and plants and animals and frogs and grashoppers than any of the other students. I bet that's why ADHD exists in the first place.

Something that is often overlooked by more successful ADHDers is the impact of not just shame, but the inability to trust yourself to do things. For ADHDers that have spent their lives consistently failing to meet their commitments, to achieve regardless of their potential, they may stop trying outside of what is absolutely required because they've learned that they can't trust themselves to follow through and that every additional failure will just cause more shame. You can't fail if you didn't try.
