Emotional dysregulation has always been the most disruptive symptom of my ADHD. I have developed skills to address the executive dysfunction, but it's the emotional ups and downs that affect my life the most. I haven't had a professional acknowledge this aspect of ADHD. Thanks for validating my experience!

I would be curious to see scans in women during different phases of their cycles, pregnancy, and menopause. I’m an obgyn with significantly debilitating adhd and feel your comments on the RSD (and can relate to the imposter syndrome with the diagnosis and stigma in medicine). Thanks for your videos, they are so validating.❤

If we had known this when I was a child, I could have been diagnosed as a child. That would have made a huge difference. I'm glad kiddos today have a better chance at getting help and not shamed.

I knew adhd was a spectrum the whole time I’m just shocked the language hasn’t been used to describe ADHD in the same way Autism is discussed

Love you down, girl. Because of your videos, i learned that i may have it, went & got tested & now i an adhd diagnosis as a high achieving woman in her mid30s. Everything finally makes sense. For the first time ever. Lifelong passive suicidal ideation also finally makes sense. Life was always just 100x harder for me & i couldnt understand why everyone else was so damn happy with life. Thank you for what you do.

I read this study recently and "Type 3" describes my son to a tee!! As a psychologist who specializes in ADHD, it took me a moment to realize he didn't have a primary mood disorder but a more complex version of ADHD with severe emotional dysregulation. I had to piece it together for his psychiatric nurse! Let's not even talk about my own journey to a late diagnosis...add to it perimenopause and autoimmune disorders.

I have a PhD and after I finished it, many people commented on it being hard to do and such, the only reply I had was 'It was not as hard as controlling my emotional state to get through it, I spent at least 50% of my energy on that.'. Imagining what I could have achieved if I didn't have this 'thing'. 10 years later, I am diagnosed with adhd at 34. Been on concerta for almost 2 years now and have unlocked the easy mode of my life (as much as possible).

the disregulation can also present in speech. rambling, fast talking, speaking before your brain catches up, racing thoughts, interrupting conversation, self involved conversation. all these things can lead to being shamed/self shaming or being shunned which triggers RSD. I'd like to hear more about this & how Logorrhea can possibly be associated w/ neurodivergent characteristics

I was diagnosed at 60. Everything you say is so spot-on, but please do one for people like me. My whole life came into focus AND became a tragedy.
