It feels to me that your beautiful mother is a deeply loving and sentimental person. Her possessions are like anchors for her heart, keeping the beautiful memories of her life, love, and losses close by. On one hand, it is completely natural to gather physical reminders of the journey we have walked and the people we have loved. On the other hand, there is a quiet irony here. When we hold onto too many physical reminders of the past, they can slowly crowd our space. They can leave us with no room to breathe or to welcome new experiences and connections. Instead of comforting us, our things can tie us to what has already been, making it hard to move forward. This is the gentle heartbreak of being a sentimental soul.  Wishing you and your family love and peace.

90% of hoarders remain just that for life, and In my opinion, this woman will remain a hoarder for the rest of her life because as far as I know, there is no cure; at least Jasmine has become a complete opposite of her mother, by having an immaculate home. She doesn't have to live with her mother again.

its about not letting go of the past, and having nothing when you are a kid. You feel that these things are going to be useful to you at some point. What I dont understand is those people who dont throw away their wasted food or dirty cans, because that seems like something more than hoarding

I'm completely the opposite to this hoarding mum so, i feel stressed watching this. There's a big house called Snow's Hill Manor, in Glocestershire or somewhere. Many moons ago the owner filled the manor with interesting stuff and lived in the equivelant of the stone' built shed. Its worth a look.

Healing is hard but it’s worth it. ❤❤❤❤❤

There is always a stressful even that turns into all mental illness.  This is no different.  It’s not easy to treat or live with.
