  I teach 10 kids how to draw comics, they are 10-14 years old, 5 girls, 5 boys. We draw on paper with pencil and fineliners. We eat snacks, listen to music, sing along, love laugh our asses off when we do comic jams. They are all exactly like my brother and me 40 years ago, sitting at the kitchen table drawing comics in the 80´s. Some things don´t change and make you forget about A.I.

  Listening to the ”Art as a kid” part was very painful but eye opening for me. My parents were supportive but took me out of art school too early because they didn’t feel like the quality of teaching was good enough. I was the kid that wanted nothing else than draw. I never got to choose for myself. One big fight was enough to scare me from going to art school in my last high school year. When it was time to ”get serious” I was too frightened of being penniless so I made the HUGE mistake of studying medicine. It took so much time away from keeping up with drawing. I had to take frequent breaks and many times I just didn’t go to my seminars to stay home and draw. I promised myself that once I became a doctor I would only work enough hours to go by and do art the rest of my time. Now it’s been 13 years, and I am a doctor. I regret everything deeply. I hate my job and I only think about art and drawing every day. At the moment, my plan is to do five more years, then quiet quit by becoming a consultant working one day a week just to have enough money. <br><br>I love my parents. They have not changed. They still refuse to se my partly ongoing suffering as a mistake. I am in my 30s now and still tell me every time I bring my current plan up that they are sleepless with worry that I will be unsecure and poor in life, and that they had hoped I would like my job ”enough” to be content in life.<br><br>For you reading this in your young years, afraid of going into art as a profession: your parents will never change.<br><br>Learn from the biggest mistake of my life. If art calls you, be fearless and don’t listen to anyone. This goes for any profession!

  Two fabulous artists and instructors. So talented and generous with their knowledge &amp; skills. (Back off A.I.! No room for you, yet!). I’ve been doing Watts Atelier on-line program since last Fall. Excellent! Makes you feel you’re having a one-on-one experience with Jeff! &nbsp;I’m learning so much! &nbsp;Taking Sculpting, etc through Proko - the best! &nbsp;I could listen to Jeff and Stan (and Marshall) everyday. Love the podcasts. &nbsp;So inspiring. (Bring on the 1,000 monkeys!) Thank you, thank you!
