Been waiting for someone to address this. Marcion seems to have had some great ideas, especially that the god of the old testament is not the god of the new testament. Makes a lot of sense. Thanks to you both.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Finally a scholar who says 'stop praying "don't lead us into temptation" because he wouldn't do that anyway'. I asked about this monstrosity so often and got the most unlikely and unbelievable answers. Thank you so much, mr David Litwa, I am deeply grateful to you for that remark. Finally someone who acknowledges that a truly loving God would NEVER lead anyone at all into any kind of temptaion, that loving God loves us far to much. The ultra nasty non-god from the old testament might do that, just to see how faithful we would be, and he has no business in Jesus' prayer. Thank you!

What does David have to say about Marcion's views on Christ fulfilling the old testament? - He's saying that Jesus is just doing things as he pleases? - how about the Isiah prophecy where Jesus tells them that he fulfilled the prophecy of Isiah? and when Jesus states in Matthew 5:17 that He did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them. - I'm genuinely curious with these questions.
