  litwa's analysis provides useful data for understanding the socio-cultural context of early texts. how an idea spreads is always tied to the conceptual framework of its era. however, if historical-critical methods rely strictly on parallels, they risk confusing correlation with causality. shared narrative motives could point to a common historical memory just as easily as direct borrowing.

  The Gospel stories fo Jesus mirror perfectly the journey of the Sun through the Houses of the Zodiac. Christmas and Easter are likewise the Sun ( and Moon for Easter ) and the Zodiac.

  the more I listen to you and also other scholars it becomes more obvious that this isolated belief system "all Christian", "all Muslim", "all Jewish" systems are so western. Look at the history there is always power struggle, land grab, trade battles  etc but East is always homogeneous  both ethnically and religiously. Today we see the same clash though West thinks itself the savior and bearer of democracy  but everywhere it touches demography diversity declines as well as religious diversity. Today people are not aware that there are Christian, Jewish community in even Iran, Palestine, Lebanon ... despite all this conflict and these populations were even larger before the 1st WW. This transition also makes sense because this all roots down to Roman way of ruling and making "all Roman".

  .... and one question. What is the affect of Islam on Christian tradition? Like iconoclasm , monotheism (this one I'm really curious about because this is the one topic that divides Islam and Christianity and Judaism). When you think about it is only 300 years later that Christianity was legal that Muslims appeared and they had much more contact  and exchange than referred to (people ltteraly lived together, did not always fight)

  In Acts 17, Paul (or rather the author of Acts) is equating YHWH with Zeus to audience who understood Cretan Zeus to be distinct from other interpretations of Zeus but still Zeus. &nbsp;The educated Greek speakers around the author of Acts would have viewed Zeus very much how Paul viewed YHWH. &nbsp;<br><br>The Zeus that educated people believed in around the turn of the century would have been very analogous to the Christian and Jewish concept of god. &nbsp;This wouldn&apos;t be Homer&apos;s Zeus.

  You can point to a lot of these similarities. Not bad robot just bad logic. &nbsp;This is like saying The US got a lot of their ideas for the development of the atomic bomb from Germany &nbsp;or German research in the 1930´s and then claiming the US atomic bomb would not have worked or been constructed or been a credible program without these insights coming out of Germany.
