  Cults work because the underlying premises are often accurate. The police are a tool for control, they do kill black people. They are protected by the law when they do so. Family systems are often the site of abuse and indoctrination, and society lets families perpetuate this abuse with no accountability. Capitalism is soul-crushing, people are unable to cope with everyday life under capitalism. Cult leaders take these truths, and exploit them to wield power over people who are in pain.

  I watched the ENTIRE Hood Horrors series on NB in 3 days!!!!! Had me in a CHOKEHOLD! I damn near called in to work to watch that series! It was wild.
