A garden takes 3 years to establish and I have found that is also true for moving to a new area.

This is interesting. My parents moved us away from their extended families when I was just six. So I never grew up with grandparents, cousins etc. and now haven’t been back to visit since I was 16… no relationship with that side of the family, and my grandparents have passed. They were not believers, so I know it was not ideal. My parents were new Christians. But I always missed not having cousins and aunties and uncles, like many of my strong Christian friends had… I was always amazed by families where their grandparents, great grandparents were all believers and SO many cousins and kids running around. This is the same on my husband’s side because he was an only child and an adult believer. Now we’re expecting our 7th child and I’m praying that we can start something different… multigenerational families with aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents all strong in the Lord and supporting one another, especially with the way the world is going.

Growing up in California my whole life, then moving to Texas truly was so crazy. I knew how liberal California was, but I never truly knew until I moved to Texas and saw how amazing it was to live in a conservative state. It opened my eyes to how bad it is in California. Conservative Christians put up with so much there and they don’t understand the extent of it because that’s all they’ve ever known

My husband and I moved away from family. We had 2 littles then. We moved from SE FL (Fort Lauderdale) to SWFL. We have less family support but it's significantly more family oriented, safe and Christian. It's been a a wonderful move that we don't regret 7 years and 3 more kids later. We live in Cape Coral which is an absolute gem and we're so thankful we moved. ❤

We moved from Oregon to TN in 2023. My family moved with us but my in-laws are still in Oregon. We miss our Oregon family tons but we could not imagine our children growing up and trying to find christian spouses in Oregon. <br>I LOVED this episode. We've been either renovating or building a house the whole time we have been in TN. I'm excited to be able to host some families and make some friends. That has been something that hasn't been easy since we chose to move and start on some major projects right away.
