The books! We have so many problems with books as homeschoolers!

The "identify your primary pain point" framework is such a smart starting point — most organizing advice skips straight to bins and baskets without asking what's actually bothering you most. And simplifying your belongings to match your real capacity feels so much more doable than a whole-house purge. The 17:15 SCAMP mention in the comments has me curious — going to check that part next!

Yes. Team no throw pillows. Same. And no coffee table- everyone just put stuff down on the table and I didn’t want to manage it.

My philosophy is if you want to stay organized without spending your whole day organizing and cleaning, you just need to own less. Americans own so much stuff and it’s all literally just that… stuff.

I would love an episode about sleep training OLDER children. I have a 2 and a half year old and 4 and a half year old and baby on the way in December. How do you do bed time with so many children and not make it last 2 hours

I LOVE your practical tips on this show! I was not the listener who submitted this question, but I might as well have been. 😂 I’m in a very similar boat - my oldest is 12, and #5 is still “cooking” 😄.

I find so much encouragement from other moms who also struggled with this (to whom it doesn’t come naturally) but have changed their ship around!

I have so many problem areas… I have tackled a few of them already - mostly decluttering. We own too much stuff, ESPECIALLY since we live in a small house. That stuff is a hindrance rather than serving us. I have gone through one of my bedroom drawers, a kitchen drawer, and a kitchen cabinet. I’ve also recently majorly narrowed down our children’s books and some toys. I have a lot more to go (especially before baby arrives!) but the accomplishment of completing some of these tasks increases my motivation to do MOAR!

I think many times, even without particularly prioritizing tasks/seeking what’s most important, doing ANYTHING productive is better than not haha. My husband also encourages me to involve the kids (they’re older and very capable), and if they even do 1 task per day (they’re not homeschooled) like the dishes or a laundry load, it helps me not to get so behind on everything. 👍🏼

Thanks for the wonderful insight/wisdom of not blaming/being the victim of your personality type but to act in SPITE of it. 🫶🏼

Disrupted dish flow can always throw a day off with a large family (ask me how I know!) I have 6 kids ages 13 and down. This school year I assigned them all (down to the 5 year-old) a day of the week to have dishwasher unloading duty to be done before breakfast and typed it into the morning checklist. Having a clear dishwasher to enable the dish train to keep on moving has been a game changer (their dishwasher day is tied to “their day” they get to check the mail and have several other perks/chores assigned to their day).
