  Hey busy mom here, the survival genre is mainly all I play, and I LOVE this game, I bought it at launch and was not disappointed, but I am impressed by the single player mode.  I have nearly 600 hours in the online play, and I will likely do a single run just so that I can see if there is a lot of difference between the two.  This game is incredible, I hope people try it.

  Just to clarify a few things, the single player is run locally on your computer, It's not on "single player servers". That's why it runs so well and you really notice the lack of input delay and animations being crisp and fluid. Also, the world isn't now filled with NPC's over what existed before. You were always fighting NPC's throughout the story quests and open world exploration. It's just now you won't ever see another human controlled person or their crappy shoebox bases scattered around the map like homeless encampments. Landstraad missions are simulated in the background so it gives it a challenge. There aren't actually NPCs doing the missions physically. Also you never dropped all your loot on death. It would take a few high value items and gold (if you had them on you) when you died to then recover. If you had just crafting mats and minerals they would still be in your inventory along with all your equipped armor and guns and tools when you died. I have over 800 hours in the game having made 7 characters to T6-7 and I just started another in single player mode. I kinda like this game.

  You can save your base to the tool if you'te taking a longer break

  I have 400+ hours on Dune since launch, with most of this being solo. I absolutely love the world and game graphics/sound. The storyline blew my mind also, and i usually pay zero attention to storylines.

  I put in 102 hours on launch and loved it. Took some time out to play some other games and couldn't bring myself to log back in and see my base gone, so I uninstalled and haven't gone back in. The single player mode has me downloading as I type this. Looking forward to getting stuck back in.

  Been playing since launch.. easily my favorite game ever made. Awesome to see the next wave of people discovering and falling in love with Dune like I did. I run a self-hosted server now and it's awesome to be able to customize everything we like

  Raising heat/dehydration, lethality, and turning off buggy base degradation because I like incorporating terrain got me to start fresh.<br>Without buying a server or meeting their ridiculous hosting requirements. It&apos;s not what I wanted for the game, but at least it gets one part right finally.

  1000+ hours solo (not a dad). single player mode is fantastic and should open it up for folks with time restrictions.
