  David Crosby was asked by a reported why he still tours at his age, and why isn&apos;t he rich after so much success?<br>He said &quot;can you spell cocaine?&quot;<br>Drugs....divorces (plural).....lawyers and lawsuits and ripoffs from bandmates, managers, labels, etc.......<br>It safer to wrestle crocodiles than be a rock star.

  When discipline to delay gratification, invest and save is trumped by “live for today”, “I may not live that long”, “tomorrow isn’t guaranteed “, and “I’ll worry about saving when I’m older”, you end up broke no matter how much money you make.

  Dick Dale the &apos;inventor&apos; of the surf music genre (&quot;Miserlou&quot; used in the Pulp Fiction movie as an example) was forced to keep performing due to the medical issues that were not covered by his insurance. He had to pay about $3K a month to stay alive. He toured until he was over 80 to pay for it. Tragic for anyone.

  Lots of videos about &apos;why does this guy/singer/band band keep on performing way past their best&apos;. &nbsp;Sometimes it is because they enjoy it, often it is because they are broke...

  I saw BB King live on the college concert circuit back around &apos;73 or &apos;74. &nbsp;He was at the peak of his showmanship. On stage at mid-size college gym in a tuxudo with a big backup band. They rocked the house. &nbsp;Saw him about 15 years later - early 90&apos;s at an auditorium in the Merrimac Valley - still a good show. &nbsp;Saw him for the last time at one of the CT casino&apos;s - rather small entourage for a low-overhead tour and BB had to sit while playing due to his obesity and diabetes. It was quite a letdown. I think he passed away a couple of years later.
