It is NOT everyone else’s responsibility to step up and take care of your kids or change their lives around your kids. You chose to have not kids, not the random single person at work. Being single or not having kids doesn’t make you any more obligated to work on days you’re not initially scheduled and shouldn’t have to compromise more than others.

I am married but we don't have kids. I am still expected to step up and offer my free time to co-workers with kids or grandkids. Like they'll mention oh Lil Goblin has a soccer game this weekend I would <b>hate</b> to miss, when it's their weekend to work, and give me the side eye because they're expecting me to volunteer to cover for them. <br><br>It's insane to me that people can think their free time is more important than mine. It's gross.
