  I have a rather different perspective on this since I have no eyesight and am totally blind. So I can't see the visuals of either old or new but I have to say, as much as I loved the old when I was growing up, the new blew me away. The storylines were much much darker and the whole thing felt less silly and contrived. Heck there's a bit if my memory serves where a Mysteron controled bird pecks at a guys face and he falls off a mountain before being converted. That is just plain nasty and so much darker than the original. I also like the idea of the different Mysteron factions, something that we only heard about in s2. I really loved the new show and am sad it never went any further.

  Both are excellent in their own way. Most importantly, both were done by Gerry Anderson. New Scarlet is one the best reboots ever done because the creator is involved.

  I loved the new one, and always got up every Saturday morning to watch it on Ministry on Mayhem! But airing it in the morning on MOM was the biggest mistake, as they would cut each episode in two and then you would have to wait for the second part. They also wouldn&apos;t tell you when it was coming back so you would have to sit and watch loads of chaos for ages.<br><br><br>It would have been better to air the show around in the evening on Saturdays. It could have rivaled Doctor Who, which also came back in 2005. <br><br>I do hope someone brings back Captain Scarlett as I think it could be easily updated today as a live action big budget action show

  I saw the original Captain Scarlet when I was Eight on its original run back in 67, and I watched a few episodes of New Captain Scarlet here on YouTube some years ago. Which is best? Well I like both although I haven&apos;t seen the full series of the CGI version but I think they&apos;re both equally as good as each other. Yes the the new version is dark for kids but back in 67 Captain Scarlet was also considered dark for a Gerry Anderson series compared to Stingray and Thunderbirds.

  Best show ever. Both ma childhood eva on Citv or 📼 VHS. I&apos;m 26 now and proud I watched this 💘☄️🌌🛰🚀🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  I watched both shows and I liked the update. Really, I’d like to see all the supermarionation shows revisited by a team that obviously loved the originals, just like TBG got, and not a soulless cash grab like the live action thunderbirds that missed the mark with its story.

  as someone who was not born when the show was originally airing i watched it for the first time in the late 90s when i was about 6 and when i think bbc 2 use to show reruns of it along with thunderbirds and i loved it since. The new CGI series was excellent, it was a kids show but still maintained that level of dark mature theme which made it rather good and even to this day i still find both enjoyable to watch. I just feel the CGI series missed the chance to continue from the original series and wrap up the story properly

  While the faces in the CGI are more realistic, the clothing falls short, and Like you I was seven when I saw the original, and the super-animation was a part of what I enjoyed so much.
