  Faux plants and trees with small leaves (olive, ficus etc.) look better. Large leaves are easier to recognise as fake.

  I have a beautiful antique walnut sideboard I inherited from my great Aunt. It’s fabulous. An antique dealer offered me &nbsp;£8,000 for it years ago. I’d never sell it unless I was truly destitute, as it’s my most prized piece of furniture. Everyone comments on how beautifully made it is and the sumptuous colour of the wood. I love it. You just can’t buy modern stuff that’s anything like it. <br><br>Do visit antique and secondhand shops but please <b>do</b> check anything for any little holes - signs of woodworm! 😮
