After renovating my 119 year old house I was broke and exhausted, but I still needed to put something at all the large windows. I ordered simple white linen/ polyester drapes from Amazon. Very cheap and easy -- I paid less than $20 per panel! . I bought the longest length they make, and hung them as high as possible. They look much more expensive than they really are, and the high placement emphasizes the tall ceilings. I had planned to upgrade when I could afford it but now I'm planning to keep them. 😊

"One substantial hero piece always has more impact than shelves full of tiny, dust-collecting objects"—this is pure gold. Editing ruthlessly and leaving negative spaces to let the room breathe is exactly what separates a catalog look from a cozy, premium home. Thanks for sharing these timeless insights!

Thank you, Reynard, for your generosity! I've learned more in watching this single video than perhaps in watching any other single video about anything!

Great advice. Negative space is an often overlooked design element. Visual clutter does indeed create mental clutter. It causes stress from processing everything you're looking at. I just decluttered and also rearranged some things and felt immediately more peaceful. I did the same for my wardrobe - got rid of so many clothes to simplify and reduce decision fatigue. I highly recommend it!

Like your designing ideas. I am in process of selling my condo, moving to a smaller condo, and making it my forever home. This time, I want to make it right, a warm, personal, interesting, and comforting home.

There are a lot of useful different guidelines in this one video. Like, maybe 10 videos' worth. Thank you!

Your pace and level of detail hit just right for me. Thank you for freely sharing professional and specific advice like this. <br>If you read this can you consider a video dealing with the challenges of older mobile homes? The long hallway feeling and slightly lower ceilings (90”). I know it’s not fancy but many of us will inherit grandma’s single or double wide and could use some ideas.

I've just discovered this channel and feel like you're what I've been looking for. You just clearly, and VERY calmly, explained concepts I'd kinda pieced together myself but wasn't sure of, and then added a whole bunch of new very great and logical ones. I'm so excited to go back through your videos and see what else I can learn. This has been a long time coming! I LOVE design books but just never 'got' them before, or was able to explain why something made me feel the way it did. Now I kinda feel like I will begin to.
