  So the essence is: There might be a risk that is related to currencies, but if you dont understand it, you shall just stick to your ETF investment.

  the weaker the dollar gets the weaker the value in my dollar investment account, and the dollar looks like it will continue to weaken

  well... ishares msci world GBP hedged vs USD. just look at TER: 0.55% vs 0.2%. I think that explains the big difference over longer periods of time

  the cpmpanies are buying and selling in dollars. any foreign exchange goes via the gollar except for the china/iran/russia axis. you get less dollars for old investments but if you look at the dollar history and believe it rhymes and that the dollar will go back up , you buy more dollars now for less pounds...
