My mother-in-law poisoned my food to prove my deadly allergy was fake.

The reason the mother in law never heard about people having allergies in her day was probably because they were all dead.

That's attempted murder. I'd demand on charges being pressed and sue her. She can enjoy jail and losing everything she owns.

If someone tells me eating a certain food could kill them, I believe them. If they're lying, they're the bad person. If you ignore them, you're the bad person.

That whole "Nobody had allergies in my day" always sets me off. Yes, twatwaffle, number one, people with allergies died young enough from them because of lack of knowledge and medical intervention. They never had the chance to breed and pass it on. And two, mutations continue to happen. And people with these mutations breed. Hell, hemophilia was known as the "royal disease" because Queen Victoria's line interbred enough, trying to keep blood lines "pure", that they bred it in. I even have a bleeding disorder, von Willebrand, that runs rampant in poodles because of interbreeding. I tend to know a bit more about genetics and mutations because of this. And there's a reason why some groups of people to this day get blood tests before getting married. Because if both people are genetic carriers, bad things can happen.

My brother, in his mid-70s, had eaten shrimp his whole life; loved it.  He suddenly began breaking out in hives whenever he ate shrimp, and each time it got worse. He now avoids it and carries both benadryl and an epipen.  I had taken penicillin all my life,  but suddenly had a severe allergic reaction to the drug. Allergies can develop over years and be terribly dangerous.

I have a tomato allergy. My grandmother forced me to eat tomatoes when I was a kid. Nobody else has ever tried this against me. Probably because they know I would assault the hell out of them.

Turns out the MIL Marjorie had been making extended family members sick for years. She was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. She was unable to grasp people had real allergies because she didn’t have them and it was found she would always be a danger to others. She was found to be a serial abuser. 15 years plus mandatory psychiatric treatment = sentence. Oh my!

My hubby said he didn’t like shellfish, one dinner out I had lobster bisque and he asked for a taste. I said you said you don’t like shellfish and he said he’d never tried lobster.  He took one small bite and in 10 minutes he was swollen, sore throat and hives.  Er dr told him it wasn’t you didn’t like shellfish, shellfish doesn’t like you.  We’re very careful now.
