  Do NOT leave rice in the rice cooker, even if it's on! Not only is it a fire hazard to leave that thing on and unattended for multiple days, it's not keeping the rice hot enough to prevent bacteria growth. In fact, it's just keeping it nice and warm, at the perfect temperature for maximum bacteria growth. You have a fridge for a reason!

  Fridge your leftover rice and reheat it, with a damp paper towel if it's getting dry/crunchy, or use it for fried rice. This is basic asian household shit plzzzzzzz 😭

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOO_OFw2xjg&amp;t=570">9:30</a> They absolutely can just give it to charity (at least in the US), I’ve volunteered with a non-profit that just goes around to a bunch of local grocery stores, takes their food that is about to be past it’s sell by date, toss out everything that’s actually gone bad, and then deliver it to people who need it. Saying you <b>have</b> to throw it out is nonsense.

  If you work at a grocery store and you saw someone steal food, no you didn&apos;t. <br><br>Now, if you work at a grocery store and you saw a dipshit college kid steal a bottle of Hennessey, that&apos;s a different thing. That&apos;s entirely within your own moral purview as to whether that kind of theft is acceptable. <br><br>But, like, if a homeless guy grabbed one of the cooked rotisserie chickens, you didn&apos;t see a fucking thing.

  They have those rules about giving away food because scarcity breeds value, and if people can get food/not starve without paying money, the price of food drops. As long as food is tied to the profit motive, there&apos;s an incentive to keep its price high, which means destroying it instead of giving it to people who need it.<br><br>Same with healthcare. Same with water. Same with housing. That&apos;s why the market doesn&apos;t allocate these resources with inelastic demand very well. Our single-minded devotion to using capitalistic methods of distribution for every single thing is going to kill us, as a species.
