The sincere thanks for that GameStop employee intercepted by "CHAPTER 3: INCEST" really caught me off guard.

Needing to spend $80 to get the whole experience? I guess Fates was ahead of it's time in some ways.

I love how two of the controversies are essentially that the game is too raunchy and not raunchy enough

For all its controversies, the art and music teams freaking nailed it at their roles.

I bought a Japanese 3DS to play Fates early and as Japanese practice, and I just assumed I wasn't studying hard enough because the story made absolutely no sense...

having to chose between your biological family or the family you grew up with is a nice and uncommon premise, one that falls apart as soon as the game pulls the "we're not biologically related ;3" card, then it just becomes a choice between your favorite anime female trope. the milf? the cute one? the tsundere? the tomboy? pick your poison!

At this point, they should remold the original draft into novels.

A bit late but I just realize Fates sprites for the petting minigames are early use of Vtubers-like assets with Live2d. That's so fascinating

If memory serves, Mikoto's letter does not get brought up if you marry Kiragi or Shiro -- who in Birthright, you have no reason but to believe are your blood-nephews

I really want to be a fly on the wall with what the Seran Kagura guy was pitching for Fates.

Fates came out when I was 14. My mah got me a used cartridge of the special edition from GameStop for me.
She's gone now, and I never had any idea until now just how rare that cartridge was. She probably also called every GameStop in the state trying to find it for me, and now I have her another thing to thank her for. She was the best, and I wish I could tell her that again.

Thank you for this video! This was one of the first games I ever put real time into (150+ hours, not included save scumming), so this has been a real blast from the past! ❤
