I tested Eurostar Standard, Plus and Premier - but which is the BEST VALUE?!

Any other journeys you'd like me to check out for you?! I'd LOVE to test out all the different classes of the Caledonian Sleeper. I've only ever done the seat before! 😆

We took the London-Paris Eurostar yesterday, and they were looking for people who got there early enough to not only move onto the train an hour before, but to upgrade to the Premier carriage. For free.

Seat only, no food service, but still! Result!

Very much appreciate the conclusion as "Standard unless the upgrade is cheap" has always been my approach with Eurostar! Great video, had me chuckling along

We went to pairs for our honeymoon straight from our wedding, turned up in our wedding dresses and got upgraded to premium thanks to the lovely guy at check in, had a wonderful experience

I don't see how the two higher classes are worth it unless you're either very well-off or your employer or someone else is paying for it. Slightly more room, so-so food and drinks, you can buy much better quality and bring it with you and still pay far less total. That said, they need to expand the waiting area at St. Pancras and place more eateries and cafes nearby. Reminded me of the old LaGuardia airport in NYC.

I have no intention of traveling on these trains, but your edit style and sense of humor made me watch the entire thing... You have a new subscriber! :D

Difficult one, I find that London is packed because of all the departures to different locations, so Premier having the separate lounge is nice, if we say £30 for the 5 glasses of champagne and £60 for the meal (Train prices not what it would cost from M&S) then it's still expensive in Premier but maybe worth it, I have to go up to London from the South Coast and typically go on a train an hour earlier than I need to because delays happen, sitting in an uncrowded Premier Lounge would be much nicer than the cattle crush at London, but really that's about it.

I took the Eurostar from London to Paris 2 years ago. People took so long boarding in our carriage, that they let us enter through the Permier cabin, and since no one was in there, I asked if we could just stay. The service was excellent, they even fed us the Permier meal. There was tons of space, and the bathroom was huge! I assume we were on a new train, now that I see this! 🤔

I will always choose the higher classes of seats in the Eurostar when I can afford it. Just because you can get an individual seat. That's what premium offers get you.

10 years ago I was a massive fan of the Eurostar every time I travelled from Aus to UK and Europe. But the last couple of years, regardless of the station that it departs from, it's been such a s**tshow, that flying is now more attractive again. Last month, arriving at Bruxelles, they didn't even have the entry gates open so all the pax from a dozen carriages were all jammed up into one spot - a genuine safety risk. Also worth remembering that Eurostar travel is NOT covered under Eurail passes - you pay a supplement, and there's a limited number of those.
