  This woman is doing more positive work for the future of the UK than the dumbshits in charge could ever hope to achieve. The people in charge in the UK aren't striving for greatness. They're striving to be mediocre so as not to offend. And we're doing it in the US as well!

  You talk about victimhood culture, it also occurs to me that when I was a kid we had things like Reader's Digest. Which was tale after tale of overcoming adversity with resilience and resourcefulness and community and familial support. It was heroic stories of triumph in difficult circumstances 'Drama In Real Life' and helpful, informative articles with practical advice on common problems, and 'Laughter is the Best Medicine',  'Humor In Uniform', 'Life in These United States' that gave us all reasons to laugh at ourselves and not take everything so seriously. At it's height Reader's Digest had a 30 million circulation world wide. I used to read it cover to cover every month, I think half my family did. But they'd also have excerpts of books that would pique people's interest in reading the whole book. I feel like that was intentionally torched. They increasingly watered down it's content with moral relativism, eliminating the Christian values that made it great,  until it became a shell of it former self, the one I knew and loved so dearly. My parents bought a big old house that had stacks and stacks of old Reader's Digests, saved by the little old ladies who were the previous owners. And I read every single one, cover to cover. I didn't do my school work, but I was something of a Reader's Digest aficionado.  Lol, sure I can laugh now.  P.S. As a culture we didn't want to make people feel bad about being weak, whiny, or generally shitty, nor did we wish to celebrate those that do the hard, painful, educating,  sacrificing stuff and make them feel good about it. How's that working out for us?

  Institutions pushing smart phones is a problem not talked about nearly enough. My sister ( 66) landed in the hospital and the damn hospital wanted her to order her meals via QR code. FFS- she is barely able to use the phone on a good day. You have her on drugs and in pain and she's supposed to order food in a manner that is most convenient for YOU?

  Yay!! I&apos;ve been obsessed with this woman&apos;s views on education lately because the school system is failing my teen kids so badly. <br>My 14 year old son is going into grade 9 and still can&apos;t read or write at grade level. I&apos;ve been making him write out a page from a book every day this summer (breaks on weekends) just to build muscle memory in his hands and hopefully to help with his spelling. At school they just get him to &quot;dictate&quot; to a teacher who acts as a scribe for him. They say that tech can be a substitute in place of him actually learning to write. If I didn&apos;t have to work I would homeschool him. I&apos;m still supplementing his learning at home as best I can but during the school year he comes home exhausted from his school day and needs a break. I wish we had a Michaela School here in Canada. I want to start one.

  When you mention that the older generation is looking to their children to lead, I think one of the problems is they look to their children to lead where technology is concerned. They didn&apos;t grow up with the technology so their children are the authority, and they look to them. I think unfortunately this is getting translated into looking to them for everything. You mentioned this and you were absolutely spot on.

  As the parent of four children, I found dinner time conversation, commencing in middle school, became a debriefing instead of parent child conversation.<br>My inquiry &quot;what did you learn in school today?&quot; Seemed akin to a divorced parent asking kids how was visitation with the other parent.<br>I realized I was battling against teachers and my kids friends. <br>I developed a deep distrust of educators and the educational system.<br>It is not there for kids and rather is there for the ideology.
