You're wrong about A & W not making their own onion rings. At least our best A & W in the Comox Valley cuts onions, batters them and cooks them in house.

Another big question is the oil used to fry it in. That has to be investigated too

There are lots of family owned burger joints in Winnipeg that outdo all the burger chains

I moved out of QC in 2017 and I really miss LaFleur.

In the 80's FUDDRUKERS expanded into Canada.  Take alook at their concept.  Fresh hanging sides of beef, in-house bakery, local sourced vegetables, meat counter showing patties & sliced steak all under one roof.  The problem I saw was that their pricing was outragous for that time.  Who would pay $5 for a burger when you go to the chains for less than $2.  No one cared what was in your burger that much.  At FUDDRUKERS you got the illusion that nothing is hidden.  Hoping they would make a comeback here again.

This has all the same hallmarks of an airline disaster. A lot of little stuff goes wrong, accumulates bit by bit, then the crash.

We don't have any of those 3 "approved" burger joints in Atlantic Canada. I dream about burgers I used to get in LA at "In and Out". They don't open stores if they cannot place them within a one-day drive by their suppliers. They serve a heavenly product, small menu, extraordinary consistency. Wish there was something like that here.

If you look for Quebec west of the Ontario border you may find it challenging.

Seeing A&W at #1 surprised me.  Not happy to hear but I very much appreciate learning truth.

I will say this Quebec doesn’t play with food. I have been to Quebec many times and food is one of those things that make Quebec different. 👍👍👍👍🙏🙏✊✊✊
