  I feel like this is overblown. I&apos;m in Thailand and have been traveling here for 6 months just living life during low season. It&apos;s still a wonderful country and one of the safest in the world. The people are so cheerful and so much of the joy can be found outside of the main cities. Venture out to the non-tourist stops and it becomes magical.

  Yesterday I went for a walk in Siam, Bangkok. It was really full of tourists.

  I think Thailand will find out as will Vegas that there aren’t enough high rollers to make up for all the regular tourists they are losing.

  The post pandemic rush is over. Everyone rushed back in late 2022/2023 because travel was finally safe again. That rush is now gone.

  Another big part of the issue they are having is the visas, All the requirements for these Visas are horrible...

  I am a Canadian that normally spend 5 months per year in Thailand .Like everybody i have seen the cost rising everywhere in Thailand.Compared to the Western countries the prices are still cheaper but the price gap is getting less and less for certain things .What i find the most unpleasant is the constantly changing immigration rules for tourists , in the lat 3 years the conditions changed each years , the first year it was 30 days granted for a tourist visa , so i had to ask a 60 days visa to extend my stay and go out of the country and come back , the second year was 60 days and you could go out of country and come back , now this year it is still 60 days but they want a 6 months visa if you will stay longer than 60 days ( or 90 days with an extension ) .You still have to get out after 60 days even if you are granted a 6 months visa .Applying for a 6 months visa cost money and also requires a certain numbers of documents and is time consuming &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; I think that the Thais think that they can ask more and more money to the tourists and they will still come .Since i already bought my ticket for Thailand before knowing i needed a 6 months visa i will still go to Thailand this year but instead of spending 5 months in Thailand i will spend 2 months in Thailand and go spend my money in others countries around for the remaining 3 months .We are a group of retired Canadian going each year in Thailand but we are looking for a different destination for next year .
