  The philosophical reason is enough for me. I get so annoyed by myself when I’m into an album and then I get a notification and then I’m on reddit and before I realize it I’ve heard 4-5 songs without listening to a single one

  I recently just got into DAP's and honestly using it at work made me realize how much stress my phone gives me, and how I need to seperate from my phone.

  Reasons for my DAP: Creating more space on my phone, all Albums and tracks now in one place, improved sound quality, no more disturbances from phone notifications, improved battery life of my phone.

  I so badly want a DAP but it is amazing how many features you can't get without spending so much money.

  Apart from the extra expense I think owning and using a DAP is really a lifestyle choice. I have one coming to me in the mail and looking forward to just listening to music as I work around the home. As an older gen I am not attached to my mobile and have a smart watch (Dick Tracy style) instead of lugging the large screen phone around. The DAP, well I will have to figure a way to attach it to my waist but so, so looking forward to listening to music the way it was made in the studio. That's what I get out of using a DAP. Completely converted and yet, haven't heard one yet.

  So glad I listened to videos on daps. I got myself a Snowsky Echo mini with a 256 gb sd card and ripped my entire cd library into Flac. So happy

  The distruction free listening is the one that wins me over. So for me, I use a Galaxy Note 20 with no SIM, and has a FiiO Q11 attached on its back for my music, I know might seem like a clunky solution but that's all I need, when I travel it's mostly by driving so I don't need ultra clean travelling solution.

  Agree with all these. I’ve had my Fiio X5 2nd gen DAC for over 10 years now and still use it. Double sd card slots so I could go insane with the storage if I wanted. I’ve had about 4-5 cell phones since and I wouldn’t want to clog them up anyway and transfer over and over. Don’t need to pay a subscription service and can play high quality MP3’s and FLAC files up to 24-bit/192kHz, that’s good enough for me. Still sounds amazing with the TI PCM1792A chip in it that were in $6000+ premium DAC’s at the time.
