  And now, with the M79 firmware, DSD files are decoded natively at 1bit instead of the DoP PCM wrapper method. The best €175 I've spent in a long time. I'm seriously considering selling the K11 R2R and buying the K13.

  Your so informative with reviews, do you know anything about Argon  SA2 streaming Amplifier? Considering this for our bedroom setup with tv and bookshelve speakers..

  I had to return one of these because Vocals were so bad on my Hifiman. It was like having a curtain were over it. Vocals were behind the Music and not in the front which makes me try uping the volume but that did not help. Over Sampling and some other tweeks also did nothing. <br>Tried adjusting EQ with Roon but in the end it did not make it feel right.

  I bought one of these because I&apos;ve recently started to explore streaming now that Spotify lossless has arrived, so I bought a K11 R2R and connected my WIIM mini to it and then into my ancient Arcam Delta 60. &nbsp;I was pleasantly surprised, especially when doing &quot;side by side comparisons&quot; with the same music played on CD from my Arcam Apha 7SE CD player (also a bit long in the tooth). &nbsp;I then connected the CD players digital coax output to the K11 R2R and was again pleasantly surprised. &nbsp;I&apos;m still running this, and will continue listening, but haven&apos;t heard anything that I didn&apos;t like, thus far. &nbsp;BTW - playing all through Wharfedale Diamond 12.3 loudpseakers.

  The Resistor Ladder is sampled normally &nbsp;sampled at 192KHZ meaning the voltage level chopped into 48 digital levels per the 96 ladder resistors. The digital signal at every resistor is measured 192,000 times per second in normal mode or 384,000 times per second in the over sampling mode by an FPGA Chip that uses those signals from the resistors to reconstruct the analog signal, I believe there are also digital filters used in a Ladder DAC same as a Sigma DAC.. I made my own ladder dac using a board I purchased on ebay sourced with either a coaxial I2S Board or a USB Amanero board feeding the I2S board the benefit of using this r2r dac board is I can swap out the NE5534 op amps with high end discrete op amps, the FiiO has surface mount parts so the op amps can&apos;t be swapped out. I prefer the sound of the Ladder DAC to a Sabre DAC I own.

  Well, boy oh boy did I just fall out of the Apple tree. So my current rig is a Sennheiser HD660S2/Violectric V200 rig which was fed by an Arcam rDAC dating back to the time of Moses. I kept thinking the rDac is holding me back so when I saw a red K11R2R popping up for $199 Aussie. I jumped. Now I&apos;m not tooting my own horn but I did work in the HiFi industry for 8 years. Heard more than my fair share of DAC&apos;s but only the one ladder DAC. That being a Light Harmonic DaVinci but at $40,000 an irrelevant example. I was stunned by this little FiiO with nothing more than a Audioquest Jitterbug. I&apos;m a ladder DAC cult card carrying member now. Just my opinion but I did many moons ago have a first generation Schiit Bifrost Multibit for a weekend. This impresses me more and the Schiit was just under a grand. Amazing achievement at this price point. I would&apos;ve spent &nbsp;$500+ with a big smile on my face if I knew what was coming through the Sennheisers.

  I&apos;ve actually ended up buying 2 FIIO K11 R2R&apos;s.<br><br>I&apos;ve bought one early this year as I was curious about R2R DAC&apos;s. All my other DAC&apos;s are Delta Sigma models with various versions of ESS Sabre chips onboard. R2R DAC&apos;s tend to be pricey. So when I saw the K11 R2R being offered for a nice price I decided to get one.<br><br>After testing it out on my Cambridge CXN V2 I actually preferred the K11&apos;s sound over the CXN&apos;s own twin Woolfson DAC&apos;s. I actually liked it so much that I ended up buying a second K11 R2R to connect my WiiM Ultra to my Cambridge CXA81 amplifier in my small apartments living room.<br><br>Now both FIIO&apos;s happily sit side by side in my hifi stack in the living room. Connecting both streamers to my CXA81. The FIIO&apos;s sound great in combination with the CXA81 and the JBL L52 Classic speakers and JVC subwoofer. I&apos;m very happy.

  This thing is outrageously good value…. I just bought one to have a muck about with in my secondary system , while my main speakers are at the doctors… I’m using it with a douk audio T6pro+ (again just for giggles) and my Mac book air usb out to the dac. No over sampling and Spotify lossless streaming. Speakers are early living voice auditorium, that I bought second hand many years ago. So the amp/dac/speakers cost about the same as my speaker cables !! So how does it sound ?? In a word… flipping fantastic. That R2R ladder dac has transformed how much I can enjoy this system. It sounds rich , layered, natural, effortless…. I couldn’t be happier. I’m going to recommend this system to a friend who has a pair of old tannoy speakers and is looking to get into hifi. Really, for the money, it’s unbeatable …. Brave words, I know. Thank you for the excellent review… It’s the only reason I started looking at this DAC and super budget approach in the first place !!!

  For this price you can get a Fosi audio ZH3 or the cheaper non R2R version of the K11 which both measure substantially better especially for the zh3. I still have no idea why anybody would get a less transparent and measurably worse dac just for the sake of it when you can just have the option to reproduce the sound of an R2R or any of your preferences with filters as an option while having lower noise floor and distortion. <br>It&apos;s simply useless.
