10k mile oil change frequency is also bad, especially in a car that does not regularly see operating temp.

direct injection, start/stop, cylinder deactivation, 10,000 mile oil changes, methanol, 0W-20 oil, cherry hot turbos....... destroy engines

The only way they're using 0w-20 and getting 1M miles is if they're changing it every 500 miles when the car is new, and then changing it every 3k miles! But you'll still get more with 5w-30.

How good is it for the environment if we have to rebuild/replace all these engines! Be better to burn a bit more fuel and have them last than this current trash.

We hada Hyundai Sonata that had a recall for possible metal shavings in the engine. I took it in and they tested it and said it was good to go. They extended the warranty by 20k. I took it straight to another dealer and traded it in. I ain't putting up with that crap.
