  Two eras of Hip Hop: before Rakim and after Rakim. If he’s not in the overall TOP 5 of ALL lists, you’re missing the point of what an emcee truly is.

  I am actually straight up mad that this breakdown doesnt have more views. More people need to understand how good Rakim is and how completely he changed the game. It is a crime when people don't have him on their top MCs list. Great video.

  Rakim is the greatest rapper of all time. He birthed the new generation of quality emcees. Been a fan since 1988.

  Im a Rakimologist. Finally someone that captures the true essence of the God MC. This vid is the truth, it explains Rakims impact. I believe MC’s benefited from Ra not wanted shine, not wanting the spot light. Its just a shame that Ra didnt release more music and or do more features because his contributions are so important. Thank you for a great analysis Toure. This is so dope and necessary.
