  They are being nice. Run DMC were those dudes, but for people who lived through that era, the game flipped every 3-4 years back then and it was an entirely new sound, swagger, and everything. DMC knew what he was talking about. The same thing happened to Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and the golden era artists a few years later when The Chronic dropped and the G-Funk era came in. Everything in New York instantly was over with and the new New York had to come with completely different sounds to make it and we got Nas, Wu, Mobb Deep, Biggie etc.

  👓🎩RUN DMC is my favorite group, but Hip Hop culture and Rap music peaked with them and it was obvious that the sound and look of the culture shifted.

  It was so many wicked MCs that came out in the late 80s, Shiiiid, Rakim, Kane, Kool G Rap, Scarface, Krs 1, Ice Cube, EPMD, Chill Rob G, Guru, DOC, MC Ren, Ice T, etc, Soooooo Many, WICKED

  RUN DMC's music was BIG. It SOUNDED huge. They sounded larger than life. They sounded like some muthafuckin' super heroes to us youngsters back in the day...

  And E didn't just lay down smooth lyrics in a unique style - he was (and probably still is) and INCREDIBLE producer!  Extremely influential...

  Damn I love seeing two giants of rap chopping it up. And it warms my heart to hear them give props to Run DMC and other groups and solo artists I grew up on. Great stuff Willie.
