  I’d add Hannah from Until Dawn into this list. Humiliated in from of her friends, plummets off the side of a cliff with her sister, buries her dead sister, cannibalizes her dead sister, and then turns into a wendigo. Worse part about it all is she was a genuine good person who’s now not even in control of her actions.

  In fairness to Order 66, there were roughly 10,000 Jedi beforehand. So, say 100 survived, that&apos;s about a .01 survival rating. So pretty effective.

  Hard to beat Mr. Freeze from Batman. It really doesn&apos;t matter the game, Freeze is a quintessential tragic backstory. From the animated series: &quot;Think of it, Batman. To never again walk on a summer&apos;s day with a hot wind in your face, and a warm hand to hold. Oh yes, I&apos;d kill for that.&quot;

  Handsome Jack from the Borderlands series is one of my fave tragic villains. Between his abusive childhood, losing his wife tragically, and everyone he thought he could trust betraying him, it&apos;s no wonder he went mad. TPS did a great job at showing that downward spiral.

  Anyone recommended Alma from the F.E.A.R. series yet? She&apos;s the seemingly demonic psychic girl tormenting you throughout the game. Well, along the way, the player discovers that Alma was forced by her own father into a comatose state while still an adolescent, placed inside a mad science contraption and forcibly impregnated in order to give birth to a psychic super-soldier. Unfortunately for her father and the other scientists involved, Alma woke up from the coma and turned out to be pretty deranged on account of the utterly horrific life devoid of any human kindness, or even interaction, she had lived up to that point. And when her psychic child was taken from her, her maternal instincts kicked in too. So she lashes out at, well, everything, using her mental powers to order her son and his army of clone warriors to kill. That&apos;s when she isn&apos;t doing a spot-on Carrie impression herself by using her powers to rip people apart.
