I’m still working on my little router . I’m 3d printing bellows to protect all the linear rails . Changed out all the little baby stepper motors to 400oz . Installed a 2.2 kw liquid cooled  spindle . Added a touch probe and a tool changer system .  Added the super long board . So I can run air mist and flood . Also built a surround with sliding doors . I’m now building a small chip conveyer with an auger . I’m still working the bugs out of on my design . I still haven’t to cut a part . But from my experience building other machines .its best to do all this stuff before you ruin it . Because you surly will without good protection with limit switch’s and linear rails . It’s a fun project for sure .

Nice to see that spindle hogging material! I just got the 4030 Evo Ultra and it is a beast. Cannot wait to do some larger aluminum projects on it without spending days cutting.

Get a small block of steel to put between the  back jaws and the screw for tightening, it helps spread the force without just digging into the aluminum. The screw is much harder than the aluminum soft jaws and thus any extra force you put into tightening just digs into the material. I haven't had any issue with parts pulling out after I did this.

If your endmill running CW, while pocketing, it needs to be grabbing the right way. Maybe your Y axis is well connected but need to be switched for some types of cuts...

Man get you some lexan and build a cage around that thing. Hate to see you lose an eye from metal flying. Do you run it dry? Wonder if it would help to lube it up a little with any type of penetrating oil.

From 3 hours to 4 minutes is insane..... From 3 hours to 40 minutes is insane. I would never push this little machine like that

Same little vise i use but on a different machine. Couldn't get the vise to indicate in so i had to take a clean up pass on the jaws

you need an enclosure and an under/chip tray so you can run cutting fluid, doing this will greatly clean up your cuts speed and Cutting Bit life!! also please keep that emergency stop switch closer to you when running these test! it not only will help save the machine from damage, but help prevent possible Injury!
