  Ciao, Italian here. Most €1 houses are in small towns where you must have a vehicle to get to a supermarket or a hospital. Public transports are either very rare or completely unavailable. Every € 1 house is not suitable for living as they need expensive fixing and replacing of water and sewage systems (metal tubes) which are often underground or inside walls that you must break to reach. Same goes for the heating, electricity and gas.<br>If it really was such a good deal don&apos;t you think that we, the Italians, would have already bought most of them?<br>😁😊😉

  The houses are €1 because it is in the middle of nowhere, most of the population are elderly, there is zero work opportunities and you basically have to rebuild the entire house. If I’m not mistaken there are also deadlines for the renovation, you cannot just buy the home and take 10 years to renovate it. This was done as a way to boost the population and growth in a town that is otherwise fading away. Same as the $19,000 homes in Japan that are abandoned but fully built already.

  I bought a premium home in Mussomeli last year. I love visiting the town a few times a year and working on the renovations. I would highly recommend buying a property in one of these small towns to anyone considering it. It&apos;s been a fun adventure!

  What about availability of skilled trades workers for renovations? Internet and electric hook-ups? Permitting for renovations? Healthcare, hospitals? I think that&apos;s all more important than paddle board

  You have to basically rebuilt the entire house, so it’s more like you’re paying for land at that point. Also there is like zero work available in the area so you better work remotely or be retired.

  We bought here in Mussomeli almost a year ago. I am a gigantic fan of your videos, though I don’t comment, but it was a thrill to see you in our town. And SUMER, you really met some of the best of our people. We did not buy 1euro and while rehabs are slow they are about a fifth of what we’d pay at home and our transformation is pretty stunning and had you come about six months later would’ve loved to have shown you the full finish. &nbsp;We have run vacation rentals in New Orleans for 16 years. &nbsp;I watch you on Apple TV on a screen the size of an action film. Still so excited you made it, even though shame to have missed meeting.
